Anyone work in healthcare in Okemos?
OK so I'm a teacher here and It's a a smaller city city with about 25,503 people. You can expect to pay around $1,250 for rent here. The median home value here is around $336,800, which seems about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
