Rent prices in Oklahoma City getting crazy

Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Oklahoma City? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1083 for a 3BR which feels okay for the area.

Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Lakewood. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.

Rent tip: look for places in January-February. Prices drop and there's more availability.

As someone who moved here from LA, I can confirm most of this. The weather surprised me the most.

Coming from Philadelphia, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.
