Olathe is underrated, change my mind

Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider — Olathe sits at 205.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $340,600, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,314/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 57°F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Easy commute
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Definitely worth checking out..
