Olathe is underrated, change my mind

Hey everyone, Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Miami it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The cultural scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much pricey but now it's surprisingly good.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Italian places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in education. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been here 1 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
