Been meaning to ask this. Been living here since 2006. Average temperature is around 57°F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $340,600 on average. With a population of 144K, Olathe is a mid-size city. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Oak Park for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Diverse dining options
- The food scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
