Anyone work in healthcare in Old Bridge?

Hey folks, I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs?

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The school system is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The healthcare scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 54, moved here 3 years ago from Miami. I've lived in South and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The pet-friendliness situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Uptown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The cultural scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely improving and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely improving and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (The Heights) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 39, moved here 1 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Downtown and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Property taxes are high
3. The community vibe situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for couples. average vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 5 years. Moved from Portland for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Not very walkable outside downtown. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 10 years. Moved from Houston for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Chain restaurants dominate. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
