Random thought, We're a young couple and Household incomes average around $106,934 in Old Bridge. Crime rate is something to consider -Old Bridge sits at 11.8 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,015 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The nightlife is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 15 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
