Cheapest neighborhoods in Old Bridge?

Alright, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $1,426 for rent here. The median home value here is around $457,800, which is pretty steep. With a population of 28,015, Old Bridge is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 5.3%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The cost of living is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Sunset area are underrated. Kids love it here.
