Curious what people think. I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 28,015 people. Homes are going for about $457,800 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Old Bridge sits at 11.8 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What do you all think? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 7 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.
