Not sure if this has been asked before, but Homes are going for about $230,100 on average. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think? TIA! The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor recreation is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is decent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..
