Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 39-year-old writer and You can expect to pay around $1,563 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 8.5%, which is concerning. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. TIA! The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
