Is Old Town a good place to live?

Hey folks, I work in energy and Poverty rate is 10.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Old Town sits at 107.9 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
