Hey, We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $98,421 in Olive Branch. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Phoenix it's surprisingly good.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 44, moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The job market situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for young professionals. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a teacher and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.
