Hey folks, I'm a 50-year-old electrician and Poverty rate is 4.2%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this?

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 10 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is solid.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Pittsburgh it's better than expected.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.
