Is Olivehurst a good place to live?

So, I'm a college student here and With a population of 19,071, Olivehurst is a small town. Homes are going for about $337,300 on average. Rent is about $1,218/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 7.2%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Hot summers
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
Has anyone dealt with this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in engineering. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for work and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
