Olivehurst quality of life -am I missing something?

Anyone else feel this way? Homes are going for about $337,300 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Is this normal for Olivehurst? Thanks in advance! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The community vibe is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for family and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cultural scene is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
