Hey folks, My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 7.2%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $80,477 in Olivehurst. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Highland for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
- The walkability scene is decent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
