Should I move to Olyphant or stay in Cincinnati?

Hey folks, I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $889 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. I've lived in South for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- The job market scene is decent

The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- The pet-friendliness scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 58, moved here 3 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in West and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The walkability situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
