What's it really like living in Olyphant?

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $143,400, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $143,400 on average. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Olyphant sits at 57.9 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 9 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
