Is Oneonta getting better or worse?

I'm a 34-year-old restaurant manager and Household incomes average around $65,031 in Oneonta. Crime rate is something to consider -Oneonta sits at 244.3 per 100K. Homes are going for about $187,800 on average. Median household income is $65,031, which feels about average for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Denver it's challenging.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 9 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
