Curious what people think. Poverty rate is 15.8%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a small town city with about 11,728 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Cedar Grove area are solid. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
