Hey everyone, With a population of 31,944, Opelika is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $213,700, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 12.2%, which is around average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
