What I wish I knew before living in Opp

I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $117,000, which is actually reasonable. It's a a small town city with about 6,752 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Opp sits at 328.4 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space
What would you do? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
