Freelancing from Orange City -experience?

I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 13.2%, which is around average. With a population of 13,768, Orange City is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. What are your go-to spots?

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Mediterranean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 10 years. Moved from Raleigh for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Limited entertainment options. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Pittsburgh it's average.

I've lived in Old Town for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The weather scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is decent in most areas.
