Quick question about Orange

Curious what people think. I'm single, late 30s, and The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Orange sits at 28.7 per 100K. Household incomes average around $145,625 in Orange. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely average and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Highland) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for family and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely tough and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Old Town) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
