Born and raised here. With a population of 13,189, Orangeburg is a small town. You can expect to pay around $765 for rent here. Poverty rate is 23.6%, which is higher than I expected. The unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
