The good and bad of living in Orangeburg

Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. What would you do? Thanks!

I work in hospitality here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is decent. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Raleigh it's better than expected.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Dallas about 15 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
