Rent in Orangevale getting crazy

With a population of 35,219, Orangevale is a smaller city. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much wild but now it's better than expected.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Phoenix about 15 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..
