Been living here since 2020. It's a a smaller city city with about 35,219 people. Homes are going for about $508,600 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Sunset) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
