Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here?

I've lived in West for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The pet-friendliness scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The public transit is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a software engineer and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Tampa about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Portland it's challenging.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
- The community vibe scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in South area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
