Hello, Homes are going for about $437,100 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Tampa about 9 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..
