First post here. It's a a small town city with about 2,186 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Ord sits at 239.6 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community vibe is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Denver about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.
