Freelancing from Ordway -experience?

Alright, Poverty rate is 20.7%, which is higher than I expected. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thoughts?

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much developing but now it's improving.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to San Francisco it's average.

I work in healthcare here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is pretty good. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The food scene is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
