First post here. Crime rate is something to consider -Oregon sits at 226.5 per 100K. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $191,300, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $82,467 in Oregon. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thanks! Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely challenging and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Midtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
