Dog-friendly places in Orem?

Poverty rate is 6.8%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thanks in advance! Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

No regrets on my end..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The safety is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 3 years. Moved from Denver for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is solid - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Limited entertainment options. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 15 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Sunset) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Seattle about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 13 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.
