I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $98,979 in Orland Park. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The nightlife scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Atlanta it's improving.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.
