Hey, Poverty rate is 5.6%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Thai.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
