Best neighborhoods to rent in Orlando?

I work in marketing and Average temperature is around 73°F, so it's warm year-round. Homes are going for about $359,000 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Thanks in advance! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 14 years. Moved from Tampa for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Limited shopping options. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
