Orlando housing prices — when will it stop?

Hi all, You can expect to pay around $1,650 for rent here. Average temperature is around 73°F, so it's warm year-round. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- The outdoor recreation scene is solid

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..
