Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and The median home value here is around $320,300, which seems about average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance! Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The pet-friendliness is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..
