I'm originally from Kansas City and People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from San Diego about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Greenfield area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
