Working in Oshkosh -salaries realistic?

Curious what people think. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $61,929, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $908/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much manageable but now it's underrated.
