Moving to Oswego with kids -good idea?

Hello, I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $319,000 on average. Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,823/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Miami it's solid.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
