Internet providers in Oswego?

It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 27, moved here 2 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in East and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The outdoor recreation situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for couples. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 41, moved here 8 years ago from Houston. I've lived in West and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The cost of living situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much wild but now it's improving.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (South) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Portland about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Houston about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Oak Park for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cultural scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 14 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
