I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 11.9%, which is around average. Rent is about $922/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $73,011 in Ottawa. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
