How are the schools in Overland?

Hello, Been living here since 2022. Poverty rate is 6.1%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Overland sits at 343.8 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Oak Park. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in legal. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is decent in most areas.
