Best areas to explore in Oviedo?

Hey, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $428,500 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,963 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Should I be concerned? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Old Town) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Downtown area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Austin about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2019 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I've been here 1 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I'm a electrician and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is average and there's always something going on.
