Living in Oviedo -the reality

Hey folks, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $428,500 on average. Household incomes average around $114,092 in Oviedo. The median home value here is around $428,500, which is pretty steep. With a population of 39,990, Oviedo is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Has anyone dealt with this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The safety is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much established but now it's surprisingly good.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Uptown for 6 years. Moved from Houston for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Dating scene is rough. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in North area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 8 years. Moved from Charlotte for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Bugs and humidity in summer. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..
