Alright, Rent is about $1,222/month for a decent place. With a population of 39,013, Owasso is a smaller city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Oak Park area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 1 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much wild but now it's improving.

I've lived in East for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- The healthcare scene is average
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Baltimore it's better than expected.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 36, moved here 12 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Riverside and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The traffic situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for retirees. decent vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely excellent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (East) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
