Best apartments in Owatonna under ?

I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation?

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 9 years. Moved from Atlanta for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is tough - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited entertainment options. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 1 years. Moved from San Diego for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is solid - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Limited shopping options. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 9/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Eastside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 26, moved here 8 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Old Town and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Low crime in most neighborhoods
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The outdoor recreation situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Chicago about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
